We opened spring break with a camping trip on Fayette Lake near La Grange at Oak Thicket Park. It was a nice park; our campsite was right on the lake. We found a "meadery" in La Grange, where they make mead, and did a tasting. It was pretty good. The place itself was neat, just a small farm where they make the mead and also raise goats. The owners poured for us so we got to talk to them. We also went to Monument Hill and Kreische Brewery State Historic Sites. Max was very excited about going and told us several times that he loves to go camping. The only negative was that it rained a lot Saturday night and was still raining Sunday morning when we were trying to pack up. When we got home Matt had to open up the camper again to let it dry (luckily it wasn't raining here) and then close it back up again. It was a fun way to start spring break!
